How to create a Push Notification campaign?

Classic Push Notification is a notification displayed on users’ devices after subscribing. Once users confirm their willingness to receive notifications on the publisher’s website, visitors get your messages with a creative you produce (image + text).
In-page push is a traffic type within the Push campaign. Unlike Classic push notifications, this format doesn’t require subscriptions and works for all platforms, including iOS and MacOS, so it allows you to target more users.

To create a Push notification campaign with PropellerAds, please follow this manual step-by-step:

  • Set the campaign name

  • Choose the folder where you want to put your campaign (optional)

  • Choose Push Notifications Advertising Format

  • Set push notifications type: Classic Push Notifications or In-Page-Push Notifications

  • Set the pricing model (CPA Goal, Smart CPC, CPC, or CPM).
    Clicking on the special toggles may help you create a multiformat campaign with Onclick and/or Interstitial ad formats for the CPA Goal pricing model.


    There is an option for SmartCPC, CPC, and CPM campaigns to Create two separate Classic Push and In-Page Push campaigns.

  • Set the Target URL

  • If you have access to the landing page, tick the special section. Here, you can learn how to add additional monetization with Propush.me.

  • Choose the required macro to add to the Target URL to set tracking (if required)

  • Decide how often users will see your ad (frequency/capping by clicks) for SmartCPC, CPC, and CPM pricing models. For the CPM pricing model, there is also an option to set frequency/capping by impressions.

  • Add Offer (Available for Gold+ users)

  • For SmartCPC, CPC, and CPM, you may select Traffic Options (Exclusive Inventory and/or Partner Traffic). You may also set the tick to leave only premium zones. This traffic is from top-quality websites with an active audience.

  • Choose the user activity level for the push campaign (available for CPA Goal, CPC, and CPM pricing models)

  • Choose GEOs to target.
    You can also target cities or states (available only for particular GEOs) if needed.

  • Set up the bid or conversion price (for the CPA Goal pricing model). The system
    will give you information about the recommended and maximum bid. You can also switch the special toggle inside the CPM and CPC pricing models, and the system will set the recommended rate.

  • Set desired advertising budgets for your campaign (daily and total). You may separate the budget for the Classic Push and In-Page Push campaigns.

  • Select the targetings you need from the wide range of the following options:

  • Use audiences to show ads only to people who have visited your website earlier(you can create an audience while creating the campaign). You may use audiences collected by Propellerads or your own. Make sure to set up S2S postback in advance.

  • Add rule-based optimization to your campaign if needed for the CPC pricing model.
    This feature allows you to set up campaigns automatically based on the requirements. PropellerAds system supports several parameters: spend, conversions, CPA, ROI, and CR. Whenever the requirements are met, the algorithms will take action to support and improve campaign performance.

  • Set campaign schedule (time zone and working hours/days)

  • Add creatives to your campaigns. Browse the images for mobile and desktop formats and add titles and descriptions. If necessary, enable or disable buttons. You can add up to 8 creatives in one campaign.


    ​In the creatives block, several options may help you:
    - With the auto-creatives feature, machine learning algorithms automatically analyze your landing page, offer page, and other parameters to choose relevant creatives. To activate this feature, set the special toggle while creating a campaign.


    - Auto-badge selection for classic Android Push Notifications may improve the performance of your campaign. Set the special toggle to activate the feature:

  • Once you complete a campaign's creation process, two options are available: save your campaign as a draft (if you plan to make the changes later) or start a campaign and send it to moderation (please note it can take up to 24 hours). After the start, the campaign will go into moderation mode. During the campaign creation, you may choose whether the campaign can be started automatically right after the moderation or you will start it manually once the moderation is over.

  • Ensure the content you work with complies with our Policy rules by selecting the appropriate checkbox.

  • Press the "Start" button (or you may save it in the Draft mode).

  • Your Push Сampaign is ready to go!
